The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (District) has prepared an annual air monitoring network plan for the county. The plan includes a statement of the purpose for each air monitor, and evidence that the siting and operation of each monitor meets the requirements of the federal regulations.
The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (District) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Proposed Amendments to Regulation VIII, (New Source Review), and Other Associated Rules (commonly referred to as NSR revisions).
State law (Health and Safety Code Section 40923) requires the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (District) to publish a list of regulatory measures scheduled for consideration during each year. These regulatory measures, or rules and regulations, are adopted in order to reduce air pollution in Santa Barbara County. Air quality rules and regulations that may be adopted or amended during 2016 are listed below. Other measures may be proposed for adoption per the criteria specified in Section 40923 of the Health and Safety Code. Before the adoption or amendment of any regulatory measure, the District publishes a notice in a local newspaper and holds a hearing to accept comments from affected businesses and other interested parties.
The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (District) will hold public workshops at the times and locations listed above to discuss proposed rule amendments. These amendments are designed to update the District’s current New Source Review (NSR) permitting regulations to reflect recent regulatory mandates, and to simplify the permitting process while maintaining an equally stringent rule set. Amendments are proposed for the following rules:

The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District will hold a public workshop to present two options for setting project significance to address greenhouse gases (GHGs) under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Following the Public Workshop the District’s Community Advisory Council will consider the options presented and whether to recommend one for adoption by the District Board of Directors. Options below would apply to business and industry sources, referred to as stationary sources, of air pollution.

The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (District) Board of Directors will hold a public hearing at the time and location listed above to accept comments and consider adoption of the 2013 Clean Air Plan (Plan). The public hearing on the Plan will begin around 1:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard.
